New Cat Toy

Ah, my people are so wonderful to me! They came home from Target the other day with the BEST toy…I mean THE BEST.  It’s a MASSIVE tunnel, and I just LOVE to climb through it.  At the end of it is a wonderful little house.  I believe the people called it “the tent”–whatever that means.  It’s so much fun to zoom through the tunnel…running, running, sliding…YEA!

Planning for God's Plan

I'm a planner.  I like to know what's going to happen, when it's going to happen, and I usually have everything lined up accordingly.  Yet, repeatedly, God places me in situations where I don't know what's going to happen, where I can't plan, and where I have to (fully...not partially) rely on Him.  In all such situations, He is faithful to lead me, guide me, and carry me through to where He wants me to be.  While I know this to be true, I continually kick and scream like a raging toddler whenever I feel like I have no clue as to what is going on.

Wednesday's Wonderful Website: Toondoo

Over on toondoo.com, your children can create their own cartoons!  Cute site.  (*There is a paying option and a non-paying option. Your child/children can do enough on that site without you having to pay anything!)  ENJOY!!!

"Socializing" Homeschooled Kids

I am on several Facebook groups that are specifically for homeschool moms.  Again and again, people wanting to homeschool face the challenge of the "What about socialization?" question.  Again and again, I write down my comments on these Facebook group pages that sound something like the following:

Wednesday's Wonderful Website: Scholastic Story Starters

Recently I spoke to my homeschool group about teaching writing.  There are so many wonderful websites out there to help in this endeavor.  One site that I like just a little more than others is Scholastic Story Starters.  On the site, your child simply starts by picking a theme:  adventure, fantasy, sci-fi, or scrambler (which is miscellaneous).

Natural Allergy Relief?

Today was one of those crazy "running around everywhere" kind of days.  No, let me take that back:  the last SEVEN days have been one of those crazy "running around everywhere" kind of WEEKS.  My first clue that we had too much going on was when I showed up for an appointment on the wrong day.  I don't do that kind of stuff, as I'm EXTREMELY type A. So, when I start doing things like that, I definitely have too much going on...At least no one had to know about my embarrassing situation, as the office was CLOSED.  (Oh wait, I'm blogging about this, so...guess the word is out.)

Joy Really Does Come in the Morning...Right?

On Sunday our pastor spoke on having joy in our lives.  On Monday I woke up and contemplated joy.  Honestly, I don't know about you, but I know that I have times when I struggle to have joy.  ACTUALLY, I have times when I struggle just to get out of bed...knowing what the day ahead MIGHT bring.  Joy is the LAST thing on my mind; I'm thinking about just surviving

Dog and Cat Diary

Hello…it’s me, Snickers.  I love that the mom doesn't think to shut down her computer when she is away from it; that gives me the perfect opportunity to...well...blog. The other day I was on her computer and read the most disturbing e-mail.  I’ve copied the information below. One of the mom's friends sent this to her.  Oddly enough, she thought it was hysterical.

The following post is from a blog I had a few years back.  However, I thought this post was worth republishing:
