Father-daughter team, Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze, have joined forces to write this empowering book on "raising the next generation to win with money." With this kind of a power team, how could a reader go wrong? I have long appreciated Dave's wisdom regarding money management, and I have recently discovered Rachel and all her terrific ideas through her blog. This book is a wonderful blend of the wisdom of both Dave and Rachel.

Ah, I started out this New Year with all these resolutions. One was that I would blog so many times per month. Well, look at me: it's only April, the year is a quarter of the year over, and I haven't keep that resolution, now have I? What about you? How are your New Year's resolutions coming along? Sometimes I feel like I get sidetracked: life gets so busy. I'm busy chasing kids, planning homeschool lessons, planning next year's curriculum, doing laundry, or wiping dust off of everything.

I have always found Denise Hunter's writing to be inspiring, compelling, and well-written. Dancing with Fireflies is an inspirational love story that follows the story of Jade McKinley and her long-standing friendship with Daniel Dawson. I loved getting to know the characters, many of whom were introduced in the first book from the Chapel Springs Romance series: Barefoot Summer.

Kim has written a beautiful blog post about picture books. I LOVE the interesting trivia fact (that I never knew before) that she includes. Check it out over here!

Having read the other two books in the Smitten series (Smitten and Secretly Smitten), I was eager to delve into the newest book, Smitten Book Club. This book, like the other two in the series, is the work of four brilliant authors: Colleen Coble, Kristin Billerbeck, Diann Hunt, and Denise Hunter.

Baby, it's cold outside. Here in New York, the average temperate is well below zero degrees Fahrenheit. However, cuddling up on the sofa with my kids and a good book is a great way to stay warm. (Of course, also picture a blazing fire in the nearby fireplace, cups of hot cocoa nearby, and our two cats curled up in our laps or on the floor.)

Time...it not only escapes me, but it actually seems to run from me sometimes...literally RUN. Any other SAHMs out there feel that way? Seriously, I have every single modern convenience available to the modern homemaker to make my life easier, simpler, and what do those things actually do? Well, for starters, they clutter up my home. Clutter equals more dust. Dust equals more cleaning...which equals (you guessed it!) more of my time running away from me.

Totally unbelievable. There I was, minding my own business, when the dad came out of nowhere and swooped the annoying fuzzy yellow guy up into "the cage." The cage is so scary. Every single time I go in that prison cell, I end up going somewhere scary...somewhere where dogs are barking, other cats are peering out at me from their own prison cells, and then some lady in a white coat pokes and prods at me...and then sticks me with a needle. So, when the dad came to get Butterscotch, I hid. I hid enough that he couldn't get me, but I also wanted to see what was going on.
